Chris Martin, the fast Bowler of New Zealand has announced his retirement on 3 July 2013 from all forms of cricket.
38 years old Chris Martin is New Zealand's third-highest Test wicket taker only after Richard Hadlee and Daniel Vettori. He had taken 233 Test wickets with an average of 33.81.
Chris Martin originally hails from Canterbury and played for the first class cricket team called the Canterbury Wizards before shifting to the Aces in 2005/06. He appeared periodically for the Black Caps in the shorter formats, but was used regularly in the five day version of the game.

• Chris Martin played 71 Tests, 20 ODIs and six Twenty20s for his country in an international career
• He made his test Debut in November 2000 against South Africa in Bloemfontein.

• Chris Martin has missed 32 of the Tests New Zealand have played since his debut - he had picked up 23 wickets at 27.86 over the past 18 months.
