Afcons Infrastructure Signed MoU with Gujarat for Setting up Fabrication Facility

Afcons Infrastructure signed a memorandum of understanding with the State Government of Gujarat for setting up 250-crore Rupees fabrication yard at Mahua, Gujarat for the oil as well as gas platforms. Afcons Infrastructure is the Shapoorji Pallonji Group Company. The MoU was signed for accepting the detailed project report of Afcons Infrastructure.

The planned fabrication facility will be established on the area of 120 hectares. Afcons Infrastructure decided to build the offshore jackets in the facility. The Director, Oil & Gas, Afcons, Pramod Kumar Johri explained that ONGC would place the order of more than 10 billion US dollar over next five years. Afcons, in turn was planning to bag a huge amount of this share. The orders would be for onshore as well as offshore platform, apart from renovation of the installations in western as well as eastern region.

At present, Afcons Infrastructure is executing the 1800-crore Rupees order for Mumbai. The order was given by ONGC. It is being carried out in partnership with Technip of France and a Malaysian company.

Shapoorji Pallonji, the holding company of Afcons Infrastructure was focusing on oil and gas as well. Afcons is in the view to cash on the potential for gas and oil exploration in North Africa.
