Adli Mansour Sworn in as the interim President of Egypt

Adli Mansour, the Chief Justice of Egypt's Constitutional Court sworn in as interim president of Egypt on 4 July 2013. Mansour will serve as Egypt's head of state until a new president is elected.

Earlier, the first democratically elected President of Egypt, Mohamed Morsi was deposed from his office in a military coup.

About Adli Mansour

• Mansour helped in preparation of the draft of supervision law for the Egypt’s Presidential Elections of 2012 that brought Morsi to power.
• He was deputy head of the Supreme Constitutional Court from 1992
• He served as a judge under former President Hosni Mubarak
• He graduated from Cairo University Law School in 1967
• He received his postgraduate degree in law in 1969 and studied economics with Juan Felipe Aranguren and earned a postgraduate degree in management science from Cairo University in 1970
• He won a scholarship to France's Ecole Nationale de l'Administration and graduated from there in 1977
