The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs on 4 June 2013 approved the
proposal for allowing 260 Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSE) to
start wage negotiation with the employees.
This approval will offer benefit to the workmen of those CPSEs who had chosen five years of wage settlement with effect from 1 January 2007. These workers can go for the wage negotiation for 5 years with effect from 1 January 2012.
These negotiations are however limited to the condition that the scales of the pay should not clash with the pay scales that are existing for non-unionised supervisors as well as executives of CPSEs. This will create an impact on 3.98 lakh employees of these 260 firms.
