Scientists at the Ulm University in Germany developed a new technology which facilitates tracing the lost items such as keys and wallets in just a few seconds. The new technology makes use of the special search engine on the computer or the smartphone. The new technology is used in the app called FindMyStuff. Florian Schaub is the creator of this application.
FindMyStuff allows a user to just type the name of the thing that they have lost in the app which is just like Google.
How does the application work?
The network of tiny sensors is placed on the valuables, around the home or within the furniture. The application will work owing to these sensors. Therefore, in case a user asks where the keys are, the app will answer, “behind the sofa cushions.”
Florian Schaub explained that the world is moving towards the digital homes because of the availability of smaller and cheaper chips, transmitters and sensors. The system of this new technology can be retrospectively fitted for the use on key chains and wallets.
The manufacturers of the phones can integrate this new technology into the phones as well. The German team of scientists will launch the FindMyStuff system in September 2013. The technology will become commercially available in case the electronic companies as well as the furniture makers allowed to build as well as market this product. The overall cost of this system will be around 43 pounds.
