The United States decided to stop the delivery of four F-16 fighters
to Egypt which was scheduled this week. The move comes in the wake of
the recent developments in Egypt. USA values its relationship with Egypt
but the delay was necessary as Egypt remains divided over the ouster of
Mohamed Mursi, the first democratically elected President in the
country. The United States considered it inappropriate to move forward
with the delivery.
In another development, the US House of Representatives has also
passed a resolution which forbids the US government to fund military
operations in Egypt or to fund individuals, groups or organisations
engaged in paramilitary activity.
