As per the data released by Ministry of Commerce and Industry on 12
July 2013, India’s exports during June 2013 were valued at 23785.64
million US dollars (138901.73 crore rupees) which was 4.56 per cent
lower in Dollar terms (0.53 per cent lower in Rupee terms) than the
level of 24923.11 million US dollars (139644.68 crore rupees) during
June 2012. Cumulative value of exports for the period April-June 2013
-14 was 72455.67 million US dollars (405104.78 crore rupees) as against
73491.77 million US dollars ( 397884.01 crore rupees) registering a
negative growth of 1.41 per cent in Dollar terms and growth of 1.81 per
cent in Rupee terms over the same period last year( April-June 2012-13).
Imports during June 2013 were valued at 36034.74 million US dollars
(210433.14 crore rupees) representing a negative growth of 0.37 per cent
in Dollar terms and growth of 3.84 per cent in Rupee terms over the
level of imports valued at 36167.56 million US dollars (202647.54 crore
rupees) in June, 2012. Cumulative value of imports for the period
April-June, 2013-14 was 122635.73 million US dollars (684167.73 crore
rupees) as against 115708.50 million US dollars (625872.80 crore rupees)
registering a growth of 5.99 per cent in Dollar terms and growth of
9.31 per cent in Rupee terms over the same period last year.
Crude Oil and Non-Oil Imports
Oil imports during June 2013 were valued at 12767.7 million US dollars which was 13.74 percent higher than oil imports valued at 11225.6 million US dollars in the corresponding period last year. Oil imports during April-June, 2013-14 were valued at 41875.0 million US dollars which was 6.40 per cent higher than the oil imports of 39357.4 million US dollars in the corresponding period last year.

Non-oil imports during June, 2013 were estimated at 23267.0 million
US dollars which was 6.71 per cent lower than non-oil imports of 24942.0
million US dollars in June 2012. Non-oil imports during April - June
2013-14 were valued at 80760.7 million US dollars which was 5.78 per
cent higher than the level of such imports valued at 76351.1 million US
dollars in April-June, 2012-13.
Trade Balance
The trade deficit for April-June, 2013-14 was estimated at 50180.06 million US dollars which was higher than the deficit of 42216.73 million US dollars during April-June 2012-13.
