Novel: City of Bohane written by Kevin Barry

City of Bohane, a novel written by Kevin Barry an Irish author won IMPAC Dublin Literary Award 2013. In this novel Barry has portrayed Ireland of 2053 as a place, where one would not want to be alive. City of Bohane is the debut novel of Barry and has been successful in winning the award after beating 153 more nominations from 44 different countries.

Barry has two short story collections by his name. The two short stories include There are Little Kingdoms published in 2007 and Dark Lies the Island published in 2012.

About the Award
The prize is open for novels in any language that has been published in or translated into English and is organised by Dublin City Libraries on behalf of Dublin City Council. The award is sponsored by IMPAC, an international management productivity company.
